I've been playing Jazz Basses for more than 40 years. Never played a P-Bass. All of sudden, I've decided that I need a P-Bass. Since I don't know whether I would like it or not, I have bought that : Custom 77, Pain & Love Model (strange name) I have received it yesterday and I'm very happy with it : Made in Korea, alder body, thin neck (jazz bass style - what I wanted), heavy cast bridge, correct finish and set-up. the only drawbacks are the ugly headstock (IMO) and cheapo tuners. Tried it through my home rig : Genz Benz shuttle3.0 with 1x10 GK cab. To my opinion, it sounds better than a CV Squier for 3/4 its price here in Europe. I'm eagerly waiting for my next rehearsal on monday to check it on my main rig (Ampeg V4-B reissue + Hatke 4x10 cab). Possible upgrading : change tuners and, if need be, replace Pup by a Bill Lawrence P46.
