Oh, that Paris Hilton. She doesn’t even know where the apostrophe goes in ”That’s.”
I wanted a Rumblefish ages ago. Too bad they don't make them like that and in the US anymore.. Nice bass. Is it korina?
I always wanted a Jetsons bass. It's just beautiful!
Black korina per the company website.
Probably because it is not a set up that translate into any special or valuable tone.
Playing a big al SSS i can share that the 3 pu engaged mode is nothing to be excited for actually
Her, not so much. The billions that come with it are pretty darned attractive.
Not that sustain is all that useful a property in a bass, but still....
I told her it just wasn’t working out between the two of us.
She was none too pleased but said she understood.
I got my eye on that Mike Watt model.
We hosted an outdoor charity festival last fall and the bassist for a Zydeco band had a brand new one of these. It was the sweetest sounding bass out of six bands, including my Lakland Jazz 5. Just deep and "present" and every note was right in the audience's ears. And he switched up the tones for different tunes and even the boomier tone was sweet. He was a very good player, so that didn't hurt. He handed it to me to try unamped and must have said three times "You've GOT to get one of these, man!" I just might, wish they made a 5er version. The Mercalli 5 they offer is a little darker sounding and only two pickups but still a nice bass.
Thank you. I appreciate gig reports like that because they reveal a lot.
Seems like you could hardly go wrong. I personally think the Reverend Mercalli gives the EBMM StingRay Special something to worry about.
Anyhoo. My new Triad looks to be a 2019 model. Not surprising as these were announced/released fairly recently.
[QUOTE="selowitch, post: An interesting assortment of sounds. It sounds not like a StingRay, not like like a Jazz [/QUOTE]
Congrats! That is a beautiful bass. And not sounding like a J bass is always a plus.
Well, I just bought a Jazz Bass for that purpose anyway.
LOL!!! How was the settlement??? Oh... Now I know how you are paying for all those Basses. The truth finds the light of day! LOL...
That’s right. I’m the Hilton ex-in-law nobody knows about and that’s why I spend my days buying basses and chatting about them on Talkbass.
your a riot!
Yep, introduced in early 2019.
Evidently I was too much man for her. What can you do? I hate it when that happens.
I said, “Baby, it’s not you. It’s me. I’ve changed. I want to buy lots of basses and discuss them and Talkbass. The life of a consort-to-an-heiress just isn’t for me. And I think we both know that you’re not about that.”
(Okay, I’ll stop derailing my own thread with jokes now.)
That's really sharp. The Rev makes some great basses. And the details are very nice. 5 piece neck, binding, blocks, colors that cause GAS.
