NBD: Rickenbacker 4003 Ruby Red from Wildwood Guitars

Just got this delivered by UPS today!

I was getting the urge to get a Rickenbacker again after getting rid of my old one several years ago. Ruby, my favorite Rickenbacker finish, has been discontinued so I wanted to act fast and get a new one before they started to disappear. My local dealer just wants too much for them in my opinion, so I took to searching for recommended online dealers. I got a list of the good ones, and Wildwood was the best in both price and communication/customer service, or I guess you could say pre-customer service. I thought about it for a day and decided to order the last Ruby one they had. I couldn't be happier!

Bruce at Wildwood was very friendly, communicative and just an all-around pleasure to deal with. I asked if they minded going ahead and taking off the bridge pickup cover during their complimentary set-up, and they happily obliged. Now, many store's "complimentary" set-ups are less than stellar, but this set-up is great, as many other Wildwood customers said! Mike, the tech, did an outstanding job. The bass is a joy to play right out of the box.


Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend Wildwood if you have want to buy a Rickenbacker, and I'm sure that applies to any other instrument too. To me, it was a no-brainer. They offered the best prices, best service and threw in an awesome set-up and a free T-shirt to boot.
