A year after a major disappointment with a new Ric that had a bad neck I decided to take advantage of Pick of the Ricks summer pricing and gamble on Chris' reputation as a Rickenbacker Master.

I've barely played it, it's still warm from sitting in the UPS truck all day but am thrilled so far with the tone, action and setup. Check out the grain on the headstock shot. Finally took care of my Ric GAS!

Thanks. I am beside myself right now.
The last time a new bass impressed me this much was the day I received my Birdsong Cortobass. This is as sweet!

That is just plain fantastic. You should be very happy with it.

If I wasn't one of the people talking you INTO buying it, I darn well should've been!

I like the two little 'eyes' over the A-string tuner. Did he swap the pickup cover for the bezel for you?

Yeah. Chris did the setup on Sat., including the bezel and installing the flats. I am truly amazed at how smooth it plays and how sweet it sounds.

Nice! Would cost me over $2500 to buy in the UK.
  11. I bought a Mapleglo myself a few weeks ago. Really nice basses. And the color goes with anything. :D

For the uninitiated (me), what is that and who is that?

PotR is a music store that specializes in Rickenbacker basses and guitars. They are located in southern New Jersey, not far from Philadelphia. The owner, Chris Clayton, is a bassist and Rick fanatic who checks out and sets up every bass he sells. Really nice guy and while his normal prices are not the cheapest you will be hard pressed to find anyone in the forum who has had a negative experience dealing with him.

This is my first time buying from him and I am another very satisfied customer.
  14. It looks like they've gone back to walnut wings.

    Beautiful instrument!

  17. What I meant was, weren't they were using retified maple for a while (like on my late-2011)?
btw, I can't wait until your book is out!

    I don't mean to derail.
That is a beautiful bass, greggster!

  18. That is gorgeous. Love the grain and the deep red colour of the fret board.
