I am a self professed gear whore and have been known to go through a dozen basses in a month.... So it is not shocking that I went from0-3 Roscoes in as many weeks. BUT! The one I got yesterday is really cool and sounds amazing. It is a new Roscoe Century Standard plus 5. The feel and playability is only slightly out shined by the glorious tone. Thanks to Jon Packard for steering me here and to Greg at Rocket Music. Truly a great resource for bass players!
Oh yeah the GS112 is new two. I immediately ordered a second one. Unreal tone !

Wow! That bass is beautiful. Congrats!
I'm awaiting first pics of my Century Standard 5 in progress, should be finished the week after next.

Greg is great. I was following the build of that bass when I thought maybe I wanted a "Roscoe Jazz" bass. I went with my 6 instead but I bet that's a great bass.

That's a slick looking bass - bet it sounds fantastic with that rig too. What wood is used for the top?
  5. Roscoe is the real deal, no doubt about it. I tried most of the high end brands, and I ended up with an SKB.

Nope just have a job and know how to buy, sell and trade basses, oh and a very very cool wife who knows I bring more money in the house from gigging than I spend!

Gear HO does not mean you KEEP them.... just go through them with a quickness. :eyebrow:
  8. If I won the lottery I wouldn't buy and sell basses to find the one. I'd fly to Orlando, go to Bass Central and try before buying. And it's very likely I'd come home with a Roscoe. :hyper:

I told Keith that same thing a few years back. There would be a Roscoe shortage on the market as I would have a 20 bass order.

I think if I could add about 3 - 4 basses to the two I have I'd be good.

Century+ Fretted 5 Bart Soap (Ash body, Koa top, BEM board)
Century+ Fretted 6 Bart JJ (Ash, quilt Maple top, Wenge board)

Century+ Fretless 5 Bart JB (Mahogany body, Flame maple top, dimondwood lined board)
Century+ Fretted 5 Aguilar PJ OBP11 (Ash body, maple top, Rosewood board)
Century+ Fretted 4 Aguilar JJ OBP-1 (Alder body, maple top, rosewood board)

If I had a little extra, a Jimmy Haslip inspired fretted 6:
    Century+ Fretted 6
    Mahogany body
    Quilt Maple top
    Pau Ferro board
    Bart soap Reverse slant pups
