I remember wanting one of these back when they came out in 2015, but could never afford one. Fast forward 6 years and I walk into my local music shop and they had a brand new one on the shelf. Apparently it was 'lost' in the warehouse for years. I've always been a Precision guy, but I daresay I've converted now! {}
looks great, and I really love satin and natural style finishes without a heavy over poly coat. It just feels really nice to hold and play and enriches the experience for me.
Man, was hoping it was blue when I first read the title. Awesome bass, it has an American Special neck on it, like the bass I have. Nice and thin. Did you get a good deal or pay retail? Private message me if you want to keep it quiet.
Gorgeous, congrats! I've been looking for a clean, unmolested J for awhile. Had a few opportunities but waited too long. Is it lightweight and how does it play?
$1099, which is $100 over 2015 retail. The store knew what they had. I haven't weight it on a scale yet, but I'd say its well under 9 pounds. Easily the lightest bass I own too. And how does it play? It's fantastic! @Clark Westfield is right that these American Special necks are indeed special. I a/b'd them with the necks used on Jazz Professionals and I much prefer the feel/finish on the American Special.
Oh man, I loved those when they came out. Truly a unique finish. I’m more of a P guy, too, but that is one gorgeous Jazz. Congrats! And so cool to find a true NOS from 2015!
That's nice. Black pickguard and maple neck with dots and not B&B really make the body the focus of that instrument. That's really nice. I'm not very GASsy usually, but that... that's nice.
I got a p turned it into a pJ Dump that greasebucket tone control do yourself a favour and get some dimarzio dp123 And some 500K pots
Sweet..always loved the looks of those...think they came in the blue or red. As far as I've seen so far....hope it plays well
