I just got my jazz back together and I am so happy with it.

I guess it is a new bass. My Jazz was the second bass I bought and has been through some changes. It started it's life as a Frettless Jazz. Soon after I got it I installed the pick up's and pre amp from a American Deluxe.
After a while I got tired of the Jazz neck and it not having fret's so I put a new neck on it. I put a Road Worn '50s Precision neck on it and I started playing it all the time but started getting tired of the Fender pre amp so I put a Audere Classic 4 band pre in it. Then it sounded and played great.
But the bass still weighed 10 1/4 pounds.
I started checking out the new Fender American Standard Hand-Stained Ash basses and loved the look and feel of them.
    So I got a new 2012 H-S-A Jazz body.
Last night I routed in the battery box and put her together. She now weighs a nice 8 3/4 pounds!

I realized while I was putting it together that the only parts left on it from my original bass was the bridge, control plate and the screws for the pick guard and control plate & neck plate & screws.

I got all the Fender parts from Reliable Fender when they had 20% off sales.

    Specs
    Neck: Road Worn '50s Precision

Body:Fender American Standard Hand-Stained Ash Mahogany with Fender pick guard.

Electrics: Fender Noiseless pick ups with Audere Classic 4 band & Stew Mac double battery box 18 volt

    Bridge: Fender HMV

    Tuners: Hipshot Vintage reverse

    Dunlop strap locks.

I haven't sold any of the original parts so I am thinking of putting it back together in some new form.

It is hard to get good photos of the grain in the body. Looking closely at the back and the end grain I think it is one piece.I can not find any lines and the grain flows nicely. Here are a couple photos.

    Thanks,
It is all Nitro now. It is the best feeling bass I have played. I always likes the feel of the Road Worn's but didn't like the body relicing.

Love it! I have a weakness for woodgrain Js and Ps. Not enough of them out there.

  11. Wow! That is quite a nifty bass. I think it's really cool how Reliable Fender sells that stuff so you can make your own Fender "Custom Shop" bass. Very cool!

  12. Very nice!
