Found a decent deal on a new one and it just came in today.

    Holy. Crap.

I am so impressed by this bass. It looks amazing, it feels fantastic, and even acoustically it sounded so clear and bright. Sounds absolutely amazing and I can't believe a bass this nice was so cheap. The neck is the perfect balance of P and J and I didn't think I'd like a more glossy, laquered finish but I've really gotta say this has proven me wrong in the best way. The body is nato and it's crazy light as well.

Next up on the GAS list is a Fender Mike Dirnt...in a few months :D

16022820348084406597308948760902.jpg ha! I ordered the made in China seafoam one from g.c. and they sent me this Indonesian nato thingy. The more I play it, the better it is getting. Nice zippy crisp tone and ultra light, plus I always wanted me a green one.

I've already said my fair share of nice things about this model. My opinion hasn't changed - They're an incredible value and sound amazing for the money you lay down for them. I'm sure you'll love yours, too.
Play the blocks off of it

Real nice! I've played some of those and found them to be way way better than I expected. When the right one with the right deal comes along, I'll add it to the stable. :)

P Cheen Alembics and parametric mid knobs scare me.

    That’s beautiful!
I adore Squiers. The China-made first-run CVs has been on my bucket list for a bit now. A month ago I got the new Squier Paranormal Jazz and I am impressed! Downsized my collection to 3, then 2, then 1 bass and guess which one stayed over a Road Worn P and an Am Pro P? The Squier.

Here’s a little snap before I swapped the Squier bridge for a Kluson high mass (and before I sold the RW P):

I've gone on a bit of a Squier spree in the regular guitar world as well...honestly, I freaking love them. Affinity basses may be kinda meh, but the Affinity guitars are stellar. They sound FANTASTIC on their own but they're also perfect mod platforms

    Do it! Squiers are incredible.

I put an Epic Custom Shops Black Gold in my CV and it just...holy crap. It sounds AMAZING. Added a string tree for that A string buzz and now I have a perfect P bass that will never leave my stable 20200806_131324.jpg 20200806_131321.jpg

I'm really digging the Nato body. I don't know what overall affect it actually has on tone, but it's really light and super resonant

Squier's have done a nice job in recent years. My Matt Freeman P-Bass sounded as good as my friend's Japanese P-Bass built in the 80's and those were great basses. He was surprised.

  16. I had a look at their site and they look really appealing, with their own twist on traditional pickup design. The pricing is amazing too.

Re. the tree on the headstock, was the buzz just present with the open string (as I guess) or did it have some effect on buzzing when fretting, because of its tension?

Absolutely 100% recommended, Epic Custom Shops is awesome And I hope he drums up enough business to expand his offerings a bit.

The buzzing was only present with the open string... I could have also fixed it with a new string and a longer winding but I figured I might as well just fix the problem for good
