I paid 109.00 for it. It's an '89 E series. Has a cool neck, dorky looking tuners (but they work well) and it's kinda ugly. The pickguard isn't original (underneath is another set of holes.) It appears the electronics have been upgraded and the route sheilded with paint. I bought this as a beater to hotrod but it sounds really good as is. It's a really nice player. I think I might put another pickguard on it to dress it up some.
Great beaters and a fair price. The necks are pretty darn good, especially if you like a flatter profile. If that's a one piece neck it's kind of "rare", most are 2 pieces. Looks like you got some real P-bass knobs as well...which I think is important!
I can play it without worrying about dings. I'm a little disappointed that it sounds great (crazy, I know...) Only need a couple of very minor saddle adjustments. It either needs a pickguard or a University of Alabama sticker on it.
These IIs are pretty nice--lots of quality but not many people know about em so the price is right, unlike Japanese Squiers. Had a Squier II strat a while back that I regret selling, sounded more like a strat than a lot of other strats I have played.
I have owned several P basses in the past and just never liked them. At the moment I have two! I am going to develop a relationship with them. Heck, they might be what I'm known for in the future.
