I found one locally used, mid 90s, 4 string P-J. It's in like new condition. It has Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders in it currently, but original pickups come with it. It also includes a hard shell SKB case. The store owner will do $275 out the door. Good deal? I have been GASn for a P-J for a while.
If it's this one, I'd buy it. Sure, I'd try to talk him down $50...I'd even tell him to keep the case, but I'd buy if it got the job done. {}
Made in Korea also, so from what I read here, I was thinking it's a Pro Tone. I didn't take any pictures because I'm dumb.
Well done! From the vast majority of accounts, you've scored quite a deal. The new pickups and case are gravy!
It's very light too. I'm loving it so far. I've been reading a lot about the SD QP pickups today. They seem to be very polarizing. I will have to give them a whirl and see for myself.
I love this bass so far. The Quarter Pounders sound great imo, but this is the noisiest bass I've ever owned. Do I need a matched pair of P/J pickups? Shielding? Both?
