I was cruising the usual spots looking for a way to get rid of the cash burning through my pocket, When I came upon this poor neglected SR. It needs a good cleaning and there is a wiring issue, Low output crackly sometimes, But she plays pretty good.

I hate you so much... :D

That is a SWEET score, good job. I'm super jealous.
My buddy got an 86 Stingray off CL and the jack was all twisted around like that, too. A $5 Switchcraft fixed it perfectly.

Oh Yeah, The Wiring issue is as I thought, the hot and ground were making contact on the output jack.

Others than basses that were given to me, this is as good a deal as I have ever seen! Even if you had to pay someone to fix it, it would be steal.

@Andyman001 I imagine you've got your own tricks for that neck but EBMM wonder wipes did wonders for my filthy Ray neck. Mine had a thick layer of gunk I had to scrape off and then steel wool the poopie out of it, but the wipes worked awesome for grime.

It seems the dirt / grime is into the wood. I have had a little luck with some 320 grit mesh.
Also thinking about using some black Hipshot's I have, but I'll need one more and a string retainer to match.

Also ordered some Tru oil, which is what EBMM recommends using.
