I decided I wanted a six string and have always loved Bongos in the past. We got this bad boy in and I couldn't resist. It plays and sounds fantastic. I decided to get a shell guard for a slightly different vibe.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

My main gig is a country band, so I thought the shell would make it fit in a little better. ;)

Surprised John Myung doesn't play this color scheme yet. Regardless, very slick...always dug the badassery of the stealth look on Bongos, like they were made for this color.

Welcome to the Bongo club! I'm not partial to the shell guard.

To me, flat black always cries out for some pinstriping. Maybe a few lines on the black pickguard would change the vibe a bit. :)

  10. why'd you get a stealth to put a tort guard on it.

and number one dealer rule, never use your own supply.

  11. John Myung would be proud!
    Take care,

I like the all back look, but I also thought the shell would look cool with the flat black finish and hardware. I think it looks great. Also, the Stealth is the only model you can get the ebony fingerboard with. I plan on switching back and forth as I please.

I don't quite understand what you're saying with the second comment. Don't buy gear from the place you work?

I don't understand some of the comments on this thread. It's a nice bass; looks great with a tort guard; and he probably gets a deal from Sweetwater for buying it there. Where would he go, Guitar Center?

    Nice instrument, man.

This is true. I once inquired of Music Man about the possibility of ordering an ordinary gloss black Bongo with an ebony fretboard. They wouldn't budge. :atoz:
