Got this in the nail yesterday and I gotta say I'm impressed!

Full rosewood neck stingray - really digging the feel of it, the back of the neck is unfinished which makes it silky smooth.

Included a couple of sweetwater's pro pics as they are better photographers than I'll ever be!!

Very nice. I picked up an all rosewood neck Bongo 5 HH from Bass Central a few weeks ago. The neck is phenominal and silking smooth is a great way to describe the feel.

What's your take on the tone? Compared to a standard model Bongo, mine seems to be more focused if that makes sense.
  3. Is there a fretboard laminate on that? Or is it all one piece?

How cool would a rosewood neck with a maple board be? Kind of the opposite of what we're used to seeing.

Lovely bass. Great color and woods. Congrats!

Would love to try a 5'er Ray for about a thousand weekends.

I can only parrot what everyone else has said. That's a gorgeous bass and you should be very proud to have it.

    And welcome to the club!

Decided I didn't like the white on white of the body, so I ordered a rosewood effect pickguard - gotta day I think it's a big improvement! Here it is next to the sadowsky that joined the stable today:

You are my new hero. I am GASing so hard right now for the same thing with the single pickup and I liked it in white with the the white PU cover until I saw yours with the rosewood PG.

Now my goal is to do the same woth the 5H but a rosewood PG and a rosewood PU cover if possible and then battle you to the death as (by Highlander rules) there can only be one.

I also would like to know, where did you find the rosewood pickguard? Was it a custom order from somewhere?

The rosewood guard looks really nice, but I have to admit - I prefer the white one more. Having the body all white draws more attention to the rosewood neck and really sets it off. (but that's just me, great bass either way)
