  1. C3AB5274-6B62-4E71-A615-C92F0F0DEE62.jpeg I love my 03 Geddy so much that
I bought another one in sunburst. It’s a 2016 model MIM and man the quality is top notch. The action is low
And this bass growls like crazy.
I highly recommend these basses for anyone looking for a hot 70’s Jazz bass tone with a flatter neck.
It has a great slap tone too!

    That's a beauty!

I have one and it has been my main bass since I bought it slightly used back in 2013. I love the way it looks, feels, and sounds, and have used pretty much nothing else live or in the studio for the last 6 years, for all different kinds of music.

    Congrats, and enjoy!

  3. Thanks, you can go from Les to Geddy and everything in between. I also like the brightness of the pickups and the soloed neck pickup does a great grindy P bass like tone.

  4. My signature looks kinda like his.
Well, my name is Gary Z

What are the biggest differences you notice (if any) between the '03 and the '16? I'm guessing the '03 is a Japan model.

  6. Does anyone know the difference in pickups? The 2016 seems to be brighter with a little more high mids but less low end.

  7. Yeah the pickups. See my post about the pickups. The 2016 sounds more like an old Ric 4001 but retains the Jazz bass characteristics too. That's why Geddy liked the 72 Jazz bass so much.

Innnteresting. How do the necks compare?

  9. The 2016 is a little bit thicker. It's barely noticeable.
