Recently bought a super clean, essentially one owner 1975 P Bass.

Bought it from the second owner who purchased it from the original owner in 1982. The second owner only bought the bass to fill a gap in his band while they searched for another bassist. They found a bassist a few months later and the second owner put the bass up in the case where it sat for 38 years, unplayed.

This thing is super clean! Fat neck, but it feels really nice. The second owner swapped to a tort guard before selling the bass because he thought it would look better, I have the original black guard as well.

I know those that lived thru the 70’s-80’s dog 70’s Fenders for being questionable at best, but it’s about all us young guys can afford these days haha!

I had a ‘75 P bass with a neck pocket you could drive a semi thru but is still one of the best sounding basses I ever owned.

Nice. I know you'll enjoy it! I actually prefer the black pickguard on a Sunburst/maple combination. With a rosewood, I prefer tort, but also love black.

I had a nice '75 P that I sold a couple years ago. Great bass with killer tone. But I had several nice P's, and actually prefer the 1.625" nut width over the 1.75" on the '75. That's the only reason I sold it...
