Got a US Joe Osborn in trade today. What a really well made instrument. Plays like butter and sounds phenomenal. Never had or played one before. I took it on a trade intending to flip it but now I’m not so sure. Has a fantastic setup with some nice thumpy flats.

A beauty! Love my US 4451m. US Laklands necks are second to none imo.

I'm not sure what model I played, but it had the finest neck I've ever played. Congratulations on a great score.

So, this is a real NBD, not an "Almost NBD"?

    (very nice, @armybass!)

I had the USA Joe Osborn and at the time decided to sell it because it was in mint condition and I worried every time I gigged with it that I would ding it. I bought it used for $1,800.00 and selling it was one of my biggest gear regrets. It was just so smooth and perfect in every way. Now they sell for so much I couldn't conceive of buying one. Your pictures look exactly like mine. I can't remember but I think mine was a low production number like 39 or something. Congrats on landing a great bass. It breaks my heart to see the pics though. lol

I had a small herd of basses - things I'd bought cheap and modified, that I was perfectly happy with. Then a friend of mine had me do some mods to his Lakland JO. The neck on that thing - so solid. I ended up building myself a new herd, with (Warmoth graphite reinforced necks so I could have GOOD necks on everything). Although I've never owned a Lakland, just having played one has cost me....thousands. Not that I'm complaining, but let it be a warning to those of you who haven't.

    Congrats-Nice one!
Looks similar to a Fender AmStd J i sold last month.
I also just did a Talkbass trade, and wound up with a bass I probably wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. (GL LB 100). I’m not sure yet if i love it,but it really has a very high quality feel.
