I picked up this VM Squier today from someone locally off Facebook for a great price. I was looking for a cheap backup but I'm really surprised at how nice it is. What really sticks out to me is the wood grain on the body. I don't think the photo does it justice, but it's actually really beautiful!

Those are really great bass guitars. I have 2 of them, both bought used.

Almost looks like one piece of wood!

It really does. If you scrutinize it very closely you can see the lines, but they blend in VERY well with the grain. Overall it feels super solid. I'm really surprised by this bass.

Are you trying to find a nice pickguard for it?

It has a black pickguard, I just removed it for the sake of showing the body.

I think it looks better with black than white or tortoiseshell...matches the fretboard inlays.

Yes, me too. Black always seems to work!

I've played several, with both pickup choices, and I really like them.
Sometime you just have to have a bass with a natural finish.
