I just found this bass and I fell in love with it. I saw it on the wall at Emerald City Guitars in Seattle Wa. It was made by Walla Walla Guitars in Walla Walla Washington. It is a Walla Walla Maverick Bass, A Midnight Paisley.

When I was researching information about these basses I could not find any information about them on the Web. I thought I should start a thread about them as a reference to other out there seeking information about them. This is my first post on Talk Bass, any my only contribution to society.

This is truly one bad ass bass! It is light and fast. The highest quality construction. Each of their basses are unique one of a kind hand made instruments. This thing is only 7.2 pounds. It sounds incredible with super low action. It has amazing fretwork and killer woodwork. The top is laser etched wood and it has a fully chambered body. I was gigging with a Music Man Sterling. This bass does what the Sterling does but it is way lighter. Passive electronics on it, but it has tone for miles. Surprisingly, almost no neck dive. I will post a recording of it this next weekend.

These hand crafted basses (designed by WWGC) feature a chambered basswood body for incredibly light weight (7.2 pounds), great acoustic volume, and tone galore. WWGC Speed Necks are made from Canadian Maple with a Standard P profile, 12″ radius and a speedy Tru-Oil finish. These necks sit in your hand like it was made for just for you.

The Maverick Pro Laser Bass utilizes a flame or quilted maple top with amazing laser etched designs. The maple top gives this guitar a nice snap to the high end, and the fully chambered design give it lots of acoustic resonance and bottom.

    Specs:

    Basswood Body

    Honey Stain with Tru-Oil Finish

    Flame Maple 21Fret Neck

    Quick Release Bridge

Seymour Duncan SMB-4D 3-Way Switch Pickups

    Sperzel Tuners

    Full Chamber B

Sperzel tuners are awesome. I only have them on one bass but they're great.

    Wow, that is super nice.

  5. That's an amazing take on a 'Tele Bass', very smartly done with first class components, not to mention it's very, very pretty.

    Enjoy !

  6. Love the fingerboard in particular. That is really classy looking. Reminds me of an old fashioned smoking jacket.

That's not a roasted neck? Sure looks that way, unless it's just the oil's tinting characteristics. Regardless, really sweet-looking and unique bass!

Walla Walla. It's not just about onions and wine anymore.

We hosted my daughter's wedding there two weeks ago. Had I known about these instruments it might have been an even more expensive week.

    Very nice.

What's that inlet into the edge of the upper bass side bout?

Edit: Never mind I checked their 'site. It's a star coin inlay.

Repping my home town. Ken and Terry, the proprietors of WWGC, share a tremendous love and knowledge of electric guitars. It's very cool to see an example of their work here. Congratulations on a tremendous score. May it bring you years of fulfillment. Thanks for posting.

From their website, it appears that they're chambered and that's a port.
