To put it simply, I've been foaming at the mouth ever since FedEx dropped this off. It's been a dream bass from a dream company, and every aspect of it blows me away! Definitely under the "Warwick spell" at this point. Body: Bubinga Pommele Finish: Natural Oil Neck: Ovangkol Fingerboard: Tigerstripe Ebony Frets: Jumbo Bronze Pickups: Active MEC Soapbar H/H (3-Way Electronics) Scale Length: 34" *Active/Passive Push-Pull Volume Knob *Illuminated Side Dots
Beautiful bass! I love the neck wood and the look of the brass frets. I've been wanting to try a german warwick for a while now. Congrats!
Holy **** Congrats on your new bass!! I see you got some nice endorsement deals, classic! Wish you a lot of fun with it.
Beautious. How does it balance on a strap? I used to have a Thumb 5 that sounded and played great, but the balance was a big issue for me.
oh. oh! oooooh..... my reactions as I read the thread title, then progressively looked through the pics. niiiiice.... for a warwick I'd rather have the 6 be F# B E A D G than standard 6 string bass tuning. Just saying... think about it. I've played 8s with low F# strings and with a good quality instrument and great pickups the tone is frickin insane down there... warwick's sound would be amazing in that range.
Thanks everyone...been test driving it hours each day and I've come to the conclusion it's the least amount of physical effort I've ever had to put into playing a bass. Just feels like butter! Can't wait to get some videos up shortly. I've heard so many horror stories/nightmares about the neck dive, and I knew this going into getting one, and right when I strapped it on I didn't sense the least bit of that, very surprised. It maybe "felt" like it wanted to, but didn't. I've read that it seems to do this more for players who wear the bass a little lower...I wear mine fairly high with a very thick/heavy-duty strap so it stays put. I'll probably get a better feel once I start playing shows again later this Fall.
That's a spankin new 2012. Must of cost you a fortune, if you bought it new. I bought a used 2003 model one and definitely a keeper. I also wear mine high up and no neck dive. Enjoy!
Nice bass. I've had both a bolt on and a neck through thumb 5 string. Been playing a 7 string mostly lately and I'm really wanting a 7 string thumb. Have you guys seen Jeroen Thesseling playing his fretless thumb 7? Give me that bass with frets and I will die a happy man. After shopping around and seeing the prices for other high end 7 strings my dream might end up a reality some day
First video up with the new bass! New play-through of Scale the Summit song "Narrow Salient" with the Warwick. Plays like butter!!
Second video up with this bass...as opposed to the video in the previous post, this is just a barely 2-minute long, bass-only interlude thing I did for our record using sustained root notes and harmonics/harmonic slides and stuff. Check it out...really fun one to play. Song is "Evergreen".
The bass you have is the most beautiful bass I have ever seen, and that tone is fantastic! You are also an amazing player. Not to mention from a technical aspect it is the most advanced bass guitar in the world. I have a Warwick Corvette 6 that I got a week ago and it is fantastic. Warwick is a great company. So are you loving it or are you loving it?
Thanks, much appreciated! Means a lot to hear that. I almost went with a Corvette but wanted to try the Thumb. DEFINITELY loving it! Plays like butter. Also, another bass-playthrough from my group Scale the Summit, this one's a super technical, fast piece from our most recent album. Hope anyone watching enjoys! LINK:
Would be so psyched to get that bass. Also, saw some of your videos on youtube and recommended your band to my friend who's into TesseracT and Karnivool and the like. Nice job.
