Here's this handy chart of Fender colors.
Yay!!! Can we all at least agree that it's not Daphne Blue, Sea Foam Green or Antigua?
I really think Candy cola now.
Fenders Chrome Red from a few years back on some of the MIA's. Looks like that chart is incomplete I had a Chrome Red they only did one or two years and very limited Numbers if I remember correctly. But it could also be Candy Cola
candy cola. And it looks even better on a bass than it does on a strat. One of those colors that just gets better and better as it oxidizes. Almost as good as Fiesta Red...
CAR is the new black.
Is this like that dress?
That last shot is great!
I believe traditional candy apple red has a silver metallic undercoat whereas candy cola has a gold metallic undercoat. I had a candy cola strat at one point. Once I got a few dings in it, I could clearly see gold metallic beneath the clear red. I can't tell what the bass is here, but that info may help.
Metallic red not Candy...
It looks like Covfefe to me.
It’s difficult some times to distinguish similar colors on a screen.
Each screen is a little different and two of the same pics posted on the internet could look different on different screens.
This was even worse back in the days of analog computer monitors and TVs. As components age, there could be variations in the balance of the three primary colors, as well as the luminance, chroma and black levels of the video. Broadcasters had a tool that could be affixed to the front of a TV monitor. This was used to set up the monitor to correctly display what was on the screen. Even then it was hard to get two monitors to look exactly the same. The other problem is that our eyes are very sensitive to color differences, yet not all of us see the same colors the same way.
It is either Candy Cola or Mystic Red.
Example of Mystic Red in this thread;
Mystic Red vs Candy Apple Red
I have a Fender Jazz body in Mystic Red and the color matches the examples in the thread.
Looks an awful lot like my 2010 American Standard Precision, which is definitely Candy Cola. Candy Apple Red is a silver undercoat with a red on top, while Candy Cola has a copper undercoat with the same red on top.
It's gorgeous, regardless...
It's Candy Cola. I have a Strat that color.
CAR is translucent red (like a Jolly
Rancher) with metallic gold or silver underneath. There is a slightly visible difference.
I believe Fender expanded on that idea with a metallic copper undercoat and your beautiful bass is the result.
Another vote for Candy Cola.
Congrats, and Enjoy!
My Mystic Red Precision for comparison...
Candy cola. I have a CAR jazz bass and a candy cola Strat. Looks just like the Strat.
