Yamaha BB1025X. It came...it finally came. Best neck I have ever played. I can't say enough good things about this beast.
Well Done ! I am "researching" that Bass too ! Is there a thumb rest? Reason for asking is that my BB414 has "designated" the front pickup for that by "ribbing" the pick-up's housing.
The bridge pickup has that "ribbing" you were talking about and I go finger style I usually put my thumb there. However, for some reason I feel a bit more comfortable resting on on the split pick up. Both work for me though.
Thank you for replying, as I could not see that detail on the internet photos. Please warn me if you spot a good deal on those BB's?
My pleasure! If you're looking for the 1000 series I don't think you can find any deals because no one seems to actually have them in stock. All the chains seem to either have the 2000's or the 400's. I had to get mine from a licensed Yamaha eBay vendor.
Glad to hear you like it... I'm debating putting the 1025 on my list to upgrade from my BB415... won't be soon, though...
I've got the 424X in the same color, these basses absolutely kill. So comfortable to play, and the sound is just fantastic. I love the way it responds to your hand position and pressure. Enjoy it!
Had my first band practice with the new bass today and I'm beyond pleased. For a little background I've been playing 35 scale basses for the last 7-8 years. Kinda crazy how much more comfortable my hand was on the Yamaha's 34 scale and even crazier, the B string was incredible. I honestly always thought this "you can get a great B string on a 34 scale" business was a bunch of of malarkey, but go figure. All around, best bass I have ever owned and even played. Love it.
Wow, that's a great looking bass! Congrats man! One day my turn will come and I'll be able to afford to buy one.
