NCD Bag End S15B-D “Big Dogs”

    TB’er LanEvo hooked me up with these today after I piped up in a thread the other week that I’d be glad to take these “monsters” off his hands and unite them with their kin here at the Standalone home for wayward Bag End cabinets.

    Big thanks and shout out to LanEvo!

    They cleaned up pretty nicely. One has only the Speakon inputs, and I decided that I want to make sure that I can daisy chain it to the newer one’s speakons and run the 1/4” to an amp. Time to do some research before booking them both to my amp. I seem to remember BE cabs having oddly wired speakons and don’t want to mess anything up.

    I like the sound of one on its own but I really can’t wait until I can hear them stacked. My usual rig is a stack of S15D’s and they truly sound best together. I’m thinking the same is likely true of these big ones.

    Check the input plate, I remember them listing which poles to use on the Speakon plugs. My S15XL-D says +2,-2.

    You gonna have fun with those new friends!

    There’s something about a -1 and a removable jumper, I think. Will go out and see when day comes.

    If your jackplate has the "removeable jumpers" then you can just move the leads on the back of the jackplate to use the 1+/1- :thumbsup:

    You are going to love these cabs. I find that when using them both together, I prefer the vent covers to be installed for a sealed cab. My favorite is one big cab and one small s15 on top with the vent cover removed from the big cab.:thumbsup:
