The Ampeg 112 cab was great but I really wanted to flip my PF-50t, so:
Always good to have a vinly bag to keep cables in so that nothing has a chance to poke a hole in the speaker.
Yes and nice of Ampeg to put a velcro strap in the bottom to stop things flying around inside... British mains plugs are very good at damaging things!
You didn 't expect me to post something serious, did you?
Cool idea to put the amp where it belongs!
edit: Happy New Flipper Day!
I’m sorry, I’m not an Ampeg guy(I do like them though)
What am I not seeing here? Before and after pics? I like the looks of it? But don’t know what it was before.
I think he was playing a 112 cab before, but now has a PF-115 cab (i think). I'ts a flip top cab, that will allow him to store the amp inside the cab.
Nice looking amp, @ficelles !!
Thanks, can’t tell that from the pic (speaker size) or storage capabilities.
They also have a 210 version, that looks to be about the same form factor as the 115. Could be that, I guess. Either way, cool rig.
What is the ”S” in “NSD?”
I wondered that too...
I think it's a typo maybe - supposed to be NCD.
"S" for stack, which of course was wrong. Now fixed.
Don't sweat it too hard. I'm pretty much perfect, but still mess up all the time.
Congrats! I have a 115 and a 210 with a PF-800, but I'm looking to grab a PF-50T for "Ye Olde Tube Goodness" as some point soon.
It used to look like the picture below, what might not be immediately apparent though is that the top of the new larger cab is removable and the amp is bolted to it, allowing you to invert it for transport. Just like with the old B15s.
Thanks, very nice!
How is the sound compared to the 12er?
Yeah, I have the pf-50t on top of a pf210 and pf115. I usually don't pair mismatched cabs, but the specs on these are pretty close and I haven't noticed any farting out of one cab or the other when pushed super hard (That's what she said). I'm known around my area for ALWAYS flipping gear.. now I'm only flipping tops! I love this rig and don't see myself getting anything else as a main rig.
I haven't been able to compare at band volumes yet but when cranked up at home there's not much in it. The 12 is a really beefy little cab. Much higher power handling in the 15 course.
Thx for the info! Never tried a 112 cab with the Pf50t.
I think you will love what you get!
I was invited to a house party jam last spring.
The only amp that was there, was a brand new Pf50t sitting on a 115 cab.
A real downer for me, because I expected at least a V4B. (no P.A; support "no way this is enough power")
Long story, short story, I had been told to leave my amp at home and "maybe bring a cab"
I went to my car, got my cab (a 115 Glockenklang Uno deluxe), so I would have at least more surface.
…. I plugged in, cranked the master and slowly increased the gain to get some grind…
maaaaaan! That lil' amp gets freakin' loud!!!!
oooops!! I think I maybe told you that story before? Not sure…
