neck advice

    I have an old peavey that I got as a gift 9 years ago, it actually had a bad ass tone. Now I would like to put a fretless neck on it so I'd actuallt play it again. any suggestions?

    Go to a luthier, and get it defretted...
    It costs some $$$.. but it's a lot cheaper than getting a new neck..

    yeah I sould have said I took it apon myself to do that originally, so now I need a new neck!
