Because Photobucket has chosen to in effect "take down" everyone's photos (unless you pay them), we have extended post edit time in the Luthier's Corner to UNLIMITED.  If you used photobucket and happen to still have your images of builds, you can go back and fix as many of your posts as far back as you wish.

I have an older pbass body that looks nice and seems to have good sustain. I am looking for information about converting it from a 4-String to a 5-String. (routing for the neck, changing from pbass p/u to jazz p/u's, etc.)

    Can anyone help?

Well, this is a job left to a pro. The neck pocket will have to be completely reshaped. This is the most major thing besides the pickups. With the neck pocket, it may be a very odd situation to fit a wider neck to that pocket. It my not work, and overhang too much. But the thing is this, you could buy another bass for what you'd spend on conversion.

Thank you. Was not sure about it and thought that I would ask BEFORE I started down this road. :p
