Neck damage/ effect on strength of Modulus neck question?

    I have the chance to buy a Modulus Flea bass at a discount due to a bit of damge to the neck. The damage is on the back of the treble side of the neck around the 12th fret. My only concern is if this is going to have any effect on the strength of the neck. I wouldn't consider the damage major, but I would like to know if there is anything I should look out for.

    How much damage are you talking about here? A large crack? A small chip? We need more info.

    What kind of damage? If it's a scratch, make sure that it doesn't affect the instrument's playability. If it's a crack, I wouldn't offer any amount of money for it...

    It's almost like a cymbal fell on it and took a small (quarter size) chip out of it.

    If that makes any sense :)

    ive heard/read, on here, that modulus is usually really cool, and may send you an extra neck, soemtimes free.. angus.. you might know?

    I've owned a few Modulii, and I really don't think a small chip outta the neck will affect the structural integrity. It may bug you after a while, though.

    I'd do what's been suggested already...call Modulus, and maybe email them a photo of the damage. They'll tell you what's up...the guys I've talked to there were very nice and helpful.
