Neck heavy P. Quick solution

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Rockin John, Apr 30, 2001.

  1. Try this.

Remove the strap capstan from the bridge end of the body. Remove the pickguard screw closest to the pup and fit the capstan + it's screw in that position. Keep the pickguard screw safe.

The strap now fouls the R/H somewhat but it will give a good feel for how the bass hangs and plays. I find the strap @ that position tends to pull the neck away from the body, too, so I think the capstan would be better on the back of the body. When I pluck-up enough courage I'll drill a hole in the back of the bass @ that position and fit the capstan there.
