Once I get my neck pocket cleaned up, I will need, of course, to install the neck.
I'm making a new body and using a neck I cannibalized off a Cort Curbow 4 string.
My question regards drilling holes in the body that match the ones already in the neck.

Is there a technique that anyone can share about getting the locations of the holes in the NECK to transfer their position exactly to the body? I hope I'm asking that correctly. The concern is what happens if I am off just a little bit with any one of the locations of the holes in the body?

I did have an idea after some thought (I remember reading about this method in this forum, I think)... Would I be better off gluing hard wood dowel rods into the neck holes to close them off and then just starting from scratch? I'd then drill my own holes in the locations of my choice.

    Thoughts?
    Thanks!
