So I'm in Japan, and I found a really cool bass, so I bought it. Except now I have to get it back home to Hawaii by taking it with me on the plane. I can pack the body in my suitcase within a gig bag, but I'm trying to figure out how to transport the neck. Using a hard case is not an option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Carry both parts in a carry on bag?

Tried, neck seems to be too long, plus I'm worried it will be taken to be a weapon, and not allowed on board.

You could tape it to your leg and smuggle it in your pants, just walk like you have a prosthetic leg

    Garret Graves likes this.
  5. If it were me I'd just try a gig bag. I did that on my last US flight, gave a big smile to the FA as I told her about a fragile guitar and into the 1st class cabin closet it went. I flew coach.

You might call the airline in advance for info as well.

Yeah, I'm not too sure how China Airlines will act.
