neck pocket depth

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by bassist4ever, Jul 28, 2002.

  1. i've notice that i have had to shim the necks on my basses because on the essex i cant get the saddles down low enough to get good action and same witht the washburn.

what would be the best thickness of a small wooden plate to place in the neck pocket?
  2. It depends on how low you want your action to be. I'd say 1 - 4 mm. It really doesn't take much.
  3. thanks... now if my friend woudl ever get back to the US i coudl have him machine it :)
