Neck relief is biger on B string then G string - is that normal?

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by Catalin, Apr 12, 2006.

  1. I have a Warwick Streamer Lx 5 string. Neck relief is almost 0.4 mm on B string, on G string is less then 0.3 mm. Is that normal ?

All my basses are aysemetrical like that to one degree or another.

It's probably a good thing given that the low side tends to vibrate in a little wider arc.

Personally,I would keep an eye on it and not worry about it as long as it was stable.

    0.1mm isn't much of a variance.

I believe thats just a result of the different tension of each string?

It can be an indiction of a slight twist in the neck. But if it plays well, don't worry about it.
