My friend and hero Ned Steinberger was on TV this morning talking about a new prototype bass he's designed. I had this very bass for a few gigs over the Summer to try out, and it blew me away.
The bass can be played either active or passive, and the active option almost has a Neve preamp sound to my ear. The active system is charged thought the input jack and powered with a super capacitor, and a 60 second charge will get you 16 hours of playing time.No batteries to change EVER! Pretty cool! Thought y'all might enjoy.

Passive or active with only 60 seconds of charging needed! wow. Cool that it can take regular strings too (I'm guessing not exposed or taper core?). Very sweet...I wanted to hear it!
