im looking for a good 1000W 8ohm poweramp to accompany my Epifani410 8ohm. any suggestions?
To get that kind of power in non-bridged mode, you would have to get a pretty big poweramp which = lots of money, so I would bridge at 8 ohms into that cab. If you want cheaper, get a QSC RMX1450, if you want more expensive but lightweight, get a QSC PLX1602.
PLX 1602 bridged
Crown CE 1000 900 into 8, CE 2000 is much stronger yet. My 1000 bridged into an MM 2x12 s frighteningly loud ...
The Crown amps will give you the power you want, but they're way heavier and cost a chunk more than the RMX or PLX series.
Assuming you want to run mono-bridged.... The QSC RMX1450 ($400) would give you 900W... the RMX1850 ($500) would give you 1200W...
But I would personally go with the PLX1602 ($700). 1100W... but the big catch is that it's only 21lbs, and has the same reliabity at the RMX amps. Plenty of options... I guess some of it could depend on your financial situation.
Dont forget Crest, and possibly Stewart as well.
I use a Peavey DPC-1400x single space power amp.
1000W RMS, 1400W peak bridged into 8ohms
I use a QSC usa 1310, 1310 watts @ 8 ohms. Its heavy, but it gives me a really nice sound. I like it.
