My set up right now is a Peavey BX-BW115, and ana Peavey MKlll bass head. I absolutely hate the head and I'm looking to buy a new one. I've looked at GK and Ampeg. I've hear many people say GK's are good. I've played and I like them alot. I also played through Ampeg. They are pretty good too. Well my question is what other heads out there, preferably rackmountable, are good that I can take a look at so I can can have alot more option? And I'm looking at buying 210's but have no clue what brand to take a look at. I want one with a horn, cause I think it sounds good with my style of playing. Can you guys/girls suggest a 210 i can look at? thanks

As far as a head, I personally prefer Ampeg. For 2x10 cabs, I prefer the Hartke 2.5 XL but I think you'll find Eden is preferred by alot of the folks here.

how much are you willing to spend? there are tons of viable bass head options...you just have to pick the sound you like in your price range...

for 2x10's, i'd suggest looking at an eden d210xlt or an aguilar gs210. you can buy more expensive stuff like epifani or bergantino if y'want, though...

    If you're looking for a separate head/speaker
    setup with a 2x10, then suggestions you'll
    hear will include:

SWR350 with an SWR Goliath JR. 2x10
Eden WT400 with an Eden XLT 2x10
    GK1001RB with a GK210RBH 2x10
Ampeg SVT3pro with an Ampeg SVTHE 2x10

or you can mix and match to taste.... in
any case, the head will run you between
$700-1000, and the cab $500-800 new,
depending on the deal you score.

Another suggestion would be to look at the
Peavey BAM 2x10 combo which is supposed
to be fanastric (also try SWR Redhead and
    Eden metro combos).

If you decide you want an Ampeg head, I
have a mint used one I'm giving a good deal
