Need a more "extroverted" truss rod nut.

    Probably you can if your truss rod has a 10-32 thread. I'd have to have your bass sitting in front of me and preferably with that nut at hand to say for sure. To find out if your truss rod has a 10-32 thread check the specs for it from Stew Mac. It probably does.

    But you say your truss rod is breaking constantly. I would think that once it broke the first time that would be it and you'd have to replace the entire truss rod. Could you explain what you really mean? Do you mean that your truss rod nut is getting damaged constantly?

    Not the truss rod, but its adjusting nut is the one breaking.

    You might have to remove some wood to get that thing to fit.
     
  6. why aren't you using a ball-end allen key?

    without one, you're putting undue sideways stress on your nut
