I just traded for a late '70's Fender P. I've noticed that I have a small amount of fret buzz towards the nut (2nd-3rd fret) I sighted the neck, and it's straight. Action is good all the way up. I think the slots on the nut may be a little deep, any ideas?

I started to hack in a plastic one earlier, so far it's done the trick.

I'm not familiar with the Warwick "Just a nut" but I am a fan of graphite/tusq. If the plastic works, you can bet on what the perm. one will be ;)

Actually, the nut can't make the second or third frets buzz. A worn/cut too low nut will cause only open strings to buzz.

    That's what I meant originally, sorry. :)

Update: Plastics working so far, I think we have a cure...
