I'm looking for a preamp that does stereo and has a nice, subtle warm gain. It would also be nice if it were smaller than 1 rack space (1/3 or 1/2) and could be powered by 9-18v DC, but not critical. I was looking at 2 presonus tube pres, but would like to get stereo in one unit if I could. Price range is somewhere around the Presonus. Thanks for the help, Matt
I've had my Alembic F-2B for over 23 years now, and still love it. It's a very good stereo tube preamp IMO. Nothing fancy, just good tone. It's one rack space though. I don't think you can have a real tube amp run off of just 9-18VDC.
+1 ( cept I have mine about 10 years) good tubes make a difference too.. at present, I have a pair of the JJ telefunken clones in mine..they are very nice
