Need advice on a second amp...

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by No Remorse, Nov 20, 2002.

  1. I'm looking for a second amp soon, and I need something that is WAY better than what I have (Washburn B30). I'm in the price range of 1200 dollars Australian.

    Can anybody suggest anything?
  2. Anyone?

    Here's some new
    Pro audio- www.proaudio.com.au

    Heaps of second hand stuff

    I bought a preamp - $150
    A really good ARX 1200watt poweramp - $600
Peavey mk6 you can pick up for $500-$600
    Peavey max 600watts - $600

Boxes EVTL 15" standard bass boxes - $300-$400
    Quads - $500- $600 you can buy a decent quadbox 2nd hand.

$1200 will buy a decent amp $600 for amp / $600 for speakers.
Combos you can easily get a combo for that money
A good one would be the later model peavey TNTs
or the Aussie made stuff ie Labsystems,Proaudio etc
  4. A few months ago I had the washburn 30-B and was looking to upgrade. I ended up spending $1800 on a second hand gallien krueger 800RB ($1200) and a new 410 HPS cabinet ($600).

If your not in any rush just wait untill something good pops up. If not a combo amp is probably what you would have to get in your current price range.

If you have the time I'd suggest untill something good pops up second hand and maybe save a bit more money.

    Hope this helps.

BTW: pro audio is definitely worth a look.
  5. Thanks guys.

    Any more suggestions?
