I'll start with stating my amp: Ampeg PF-350 with the 2X10 cabinet.

Head is 4 ohms and cabinet is 8 ohms

Im fairly new to the world of stacks and ohms and all that jazz. The whole thing of ohms and such still confuses me; the reason for making this thread. so forgive any stupid questions. yes i seen the ohms FAQ write up ...

so anyway, on to what i wanted to say...

I've been wanting a little more volume a band practice without maxing my amp out. Adding another cabinet would do that right? because of the current portaflex setup, i believe im not getting the full 350 watts. right?

If all of that is true, ill probably add a 4x10 or another 2x10.

assuming that a another cabinet will work for me, do i need 4 ohms or 8 ohms. do i match the head or match the cabinet. ?

    thanks in advance

Since your PF210 is an 8 ohm cab, you can add one more 8 ohm cab for a total load of 4 ohms - which is the minimum load that head can handle. Since you allready have the PF210 - you would proabbly be better off adding an identical PF210 to avoid possible phase issues. Some folks add the PF115 with the 210- but typically you are better off having matching cabinets.

Totally. And not only does it make sense to get a second PF210 for sound reasons, it would look way cooler than some other random cab.

Game, set, and match. Someone lock this thread now so it remains perfect.

More of the same. Keeps everything ticking over as it is now, only louder, which achieves your goal.

Eh, they're not so bad to carry two. At least they roll.

Maybe sell the 210 and get a 410?
