Forget calling local guitar shops, or buying online, just head to your nearest stained-glass supply shop. I got a 9"x16" sheet of adhesive-backed pure copper foil for $7 - way cheaper than online.

    No waiting, no shipping.

  2. or head to a local garden shop and pick up some anti-slug tape for garden borders, that works too...

bayou cables has a 1 inch x 5 feet sheet for $5 or a square foot for $7. I don't want to do the math, but looks around the same price.

More common than guitar shops that carry shielding supplies, obviously.

  9. I bought mine on ebay

There is easily more than half the roll left, i think i could probably do 3 or 4 more basses with the amount i have left after doing one bass

The tape is about an inch in diameter, very easy to use, and uses a conductive adhesive :)

  10. +1 on this.

Stained Glass supply shops are more available than you think. But if you never needed one, chances are, you never noticed them before. :D

Do a check on switchboard.com -- chances are, there is one around.
