I was at a vintage guitar shop this weekend and I played a rather unique bass. It was tagged as a fender tele bass from the 70's it had one chrome humbucker just below the neck and the pickgaurd was like that of a '72 thinline tele guitar, and of course the headstock was the the early p-bass tele style. Can anyone tell me where I can get more info or pictures of this type of instrument?
I guess they are kind of rare, but I know that the bassist from Travis plays one.
    Thanks alot.

Do a search on Fender made several versions of the Tele bass. The one that you have seen seems to be the least popular. They call that pickup the 'mudbacker'...that should give you some idea as to why it hasn't sold well.

What do you want to know?

I don't own one, but have a '72ish Fender catalog with a photo of one.
