I just recently sold my rack setup, I'm not in the market for a new head and have narrowed it down to 4 choices, please tell me what you would choose and why...

If you have the option...try all 4 amps with your bass and your cabinets. Just trying these out in the stores with the gear off the wall won't do any justice. If you can work it a blind test. Turn your back while a buddy of yours switches the amps around without you knowing which one you are playing through. Then maybe you can get a better idea of which you like better.

I plan to do that sometime soon, I wont be able to try out the Kustom anywhere around here though...

If you like all Tube, go with the Trayner.

If you like hi-fi, go GK.

If you like hybrids, go Yorkville.

If you want a high-powered head, go Kustom.

Would it be possible for people to reply with why they made their choices?
  6. I'd go with the XS800H.

    -800 Watts
    -Tube and SS Preamps
    -Tube Drive
    -Drive Meter

Seems like an awesome amp and I've heard nothing but good things about it.

From my experience with these amps so far this is what I have come up with:

YBA200 - Sounds great, not sure if it will be loud enough.
XS800H - Sounds okay, pretty certain it will be loud enough.
GB1200 - Haven't heard it, still certain it will be loud enough.
800RB - Haven't heard it, don't know how loud it is or what the tone is like.

YBA200 - Have not heard it.
XS800H - Almost bought this myself but it was 3U (took up too many spaces), less watts than the Kustom and cost a bit more.
GB1200 - Ended up with this as it seemed like and still seems like the overall best buy in this price range.
800RB - I A/Bed a 1001RB vs the Kustom (linked in my head thread in my sig) and the Kustom won for sure.

Get the Kustom man, it's the best features/watts/tone for your dollar!!!

Definitely the Yorkville XS800H for all the features on it and it`s a hybrid Head, which will give you the warmth and punch at the same time !!!
