Hi there: Some guy is selling this vintage Ampeg B15, that he bougth used and he doesn´t know the year of the amp. I´m kinda interested, so I was wondering if someone here in TB could help me dating this tone beast. Gracias. Ignacio. (Sorry about the crappy picture!)
Blue graphics and silver knobs means 1968-1972. More info here: http://users.aol.com/bluemuse/dating.html
The blue graphics indicate that it was made btw '68 and '72. Go to google and type in vintage ampeg parts and look for a website with "fliptop" in the URL. There you will find links to vintage Ampeg info including one that gives Date of Manufacture info
Bad joke coming up. Need HELP dating this Ampeg B15 If you're dating an Ampeg, I'd say you need help, yes.
About a year ago I scored a mint condition 1967 B-15-N. It might be the best amp purchase I ever made. That amp has a warm, lush, buttery tone that is amazing. The new B-15R's don't sound anything like these old classics.
