So here is my situation. I have recently joined a new hip-hop/ rock / jazz / alternative. Its alot to take in at once. Anyway iv been looking at some basses but im just confused as to which I would like to get. I want a soung between the Incubus(make yourslef) days bass style and a deep jazzy tone. If anyone has any advice e-mail me at mukshar@hotmail.com or just gimme a post. Thanks very much.

Well I suppose im looking for more of a passive tone. I want that really deep bass tone but at the same time a little bit of a pop. My price range is less that 800. Some basses iv been looking into are the fender jazz bass and this warwick modle.

I think a jazz bass might be the thing. Its versitile and has a traditional look to it.

  8. I bought a new old stock Fender Jazz Deluxe for $800, and it was an incredible purchase. If you're looking for something that will not only have a versatile sound, but also serve as a high quality instrument, I think it would be a real good way to go.

I bought a Lakland 55-01 as a second bass and it seems versitile enough.
