OK. Here is the story. I want to find a bass (Moderate to high end) that is long scale (35"), 4-Strings but, strung with B-E-A-D. I want a 5 string low end on a 4 string bass. I do not like 5 strings for my style and playing, but we do alot of stuff in B and in D that would give me a great different tone with a Low B. I do not use my G very often anyway, so I think that this is the answer.
I do not know if I can just mod one of my other basses or if someone out there makes one. I have seen Schector makes one for about $300 or so, but I would like a little more high end bass. Less 80's rock and roll and more Dead '74.
    Thanks everyone!!

    1. Buy any standard 4 string bass that you like.

    2. Have the nut refiled to properly fit strings B-E-A-D.

    3. Have truss rod adjusted if necessary.

    4. Enjoy playing.

Have you checked with the good folks at Music Center of Kenosha?

What's your price range (I'm not sure what moderate to high end means)?

The Peavey Cirrus 4 has a 35 in. scale and looks to be a pretty nice instrument.

If I knew your price range, I might have some other ideas...
