Well, I have 2 bass guitars now, both of which feel amazing to play, and sound fantastic! only problem is, one has no logo or name on it, and the other is a logo i've never seen!
So any help identifying these 2 basses would be greatly appreciated!

I picked this lovely looking thing for £35 in a hardcase the other night, going to have to get rid of the stickers on the fretboard and the "limited edition" sticker on the body. The tuners look like the ones used on the Japanese Ibanez fender copies, but the bridge looks very different and it doesn't have the white truss rod cover.

As for this baby, i have no idea. Got it for £90 from my local music shop, which i was then paid back because the owner accidentally sold a guitar i had reserved. Anyways, it has 2 switches on it, one is a killswitch and i think the other is a coil tap or something, changes the tone to some extent. Any info on this would be amazing!

The pictures above are from a "lawsuit" era bass, most likely.

Aye, I'm trying to figure out who/where it was made. Headstock is the wrong shape to be Tokai, but like i said, the bridge and lack of truss rod cover means its not ibanez. Could be Columbus maybe?

Nothing to positively identify the J copy as one brand or the other, though the rounded-off butt of the fretboard is kind of distinctive. But it looks like a good quality, late-70s copy, and might well have been made at that time by either Fujigen or Matsumoku. Since you're in Scotland, note that James Grant Music in Glasgow/Edinburgh used to import instruments like this under their Grant brand name during the '70s. Perhaps it's one of those.

The other bass appears at first glance to be a 1980'ish Aria Pro II SB-something, with an added Bill Lawrence OBL pickup, rewired electronics, a painted headstock and a personal "K" logo in gold marker. According to the sticker, it was once bought at The Hague.

    Thanks alot :)
The jazz bass is definatley a higher quality copy, kicks my mates brand new american J-bass's ass!

I always thought the other was probably an Aria, but the logo and extra electronics threw me, sounds bloomin awesome though!

UGGGGHHHHH! Second bass is an Aria Pro II SB-700, 1981. The dead giveaway is the set or glued neck, which was only done on this model and only in 1981. Very modified, kills me. In its unmodified state, this was the bass model used by John Taylor of Duran Duran on the first two albums. I owned one, sold it to RogerBMiller here.

    the other, could be anything.
