Hi!, I'm a bit new here and I'm searching for help on trying to find more info about this bass. So a while ago, a friend and I were searching through pawn shops to get some good deals and came across this telecaster- like bass guitar for $150. The only information we have is that it came from Japan and one of the pickups is branded by godin. Could be worth something, could be worth nothing. Regardless, it's a pretty nice looking bass that sounds pretty good for it's unknown age. Any help would be appreciated. Best regards, Beanhead. 20210506_235341.jpg

Aria brand - a different Aria than the more famous one. C7B737B7-F2C9-44C3-A7F3-385B9E246DD1.jpeg

Sweet! The Godin pickup is of course a replacement . How does the bass sound? I'm assuming you bought it.

It actually sounds pretty ight, of course it's a bit out of tune and I lost my tuner somewhere but regardless, I still like it. And the godin hot rails are actually pretty good so kudos to the guy/girl who had it before me.

My roommate in college (1971) had the same bass as the Ibanez 2353L posted earlier. For decades I've been trying to remember the brand...thanks for posting that.

Not an Aria. note it doesn't say Aria on the head stock, nor does the one cited as being Aria for comparison. Aria didn't make any basses, they contacted to factories. Until 1986 almost all Aria's were made by Matsumoku. The neck plate on this bass is not the same as any that were used by Matsumok.

It looks like it may be an old Framus bass. Here is a guitar version that looks very similar in construction.

Found a thread on one of these from a few years ago. I don't think they found a definite answer to its brand, but it might help.

So I did a bit more digging and found out it's a sears branded tele bass. In the first pic from before, there was a smudge on the headstock. It was basically the sticker on it but the person before me took it off, even the serial number on the back. I'm 100% sure that this is the bass and I honestly thank you guys for the support!.
