    Can someone fix this?

Whenever I record, I hear a hissing sound on playback. My audio interface is an M-Audio fast track pro. So the whole setup would be: Bass > Boss LMB-3 > M-Audio > Laptop with windows 7 64bit using ASIO4ALL driver + Fruity Loops 9 & then to some cheap stereo speakers.

How do I fix this? Do i need to buy a preamp? Is it gonna help get rid of the hiss?

I recorded some with no hiss but I forgot my settings, which is sad :bawl:
    Here they are...

Thanks in advance! All insights are appreciated! Sorry my samples doesn't sound groovy enough, I was just testing some settings:crying:

Well, since you have been able to record without the hiss, the pres in the m audio are unlikely the problem.

Your chain is short so there isn't much to troubleshoot there. First, take away the boss pedal and see if that has any effect. After that, try to eliminate the possible eq problems. Set your bass completely flat and make a recording where you fiddle with the onboard eq to see if that could be the source. Then move around the room, try differend playing positions. Do you have a crt monitors or any other non flatscreen tv's in the room? Try turning your back on all of them and any other electrical appliances for that matter. Keep recording all the time so you can play it back and see if the noise levels change.

What recording software are you using? Do you use any plugins or is just pure DI into a clean track?

Troubleshooting via internet is quite hard..

Thanks! I just plug it in directly and I use fruity loops studio 9. Do you think the monitors got anything to do with these? Thanks again!!!

You may wish to make up some tracks & settings sheets...

When in doubt, simplify. Pull the LMB-3 out of the chain. You can always compress and enhance later.
