NEED HELP! what's a fair price.

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by bobbybass85, Feb 18, 2006.

  1. Hey guys, so i'm selling my old Yamaha BB404 bass to a friend of mine. It's in USED condition... it plays perfectly with no problems but there are many many dings and scratches on the surface and there is a ding on the corner of the neck at f# on the E string. It looks fine from a distance but up close it's noticable. he's asking me to set a price. I bought it new two years ago from GC for $380.00, what would you say is a fair price?

Sorry the pic sux but it's the best i've got of it. Thanks!!

well, typically, as soon as something is sold, 30% comes off.

then, you say it is relatively used, with appearance dings and scratches. so that probably takes another 10-15%, minimum.

so basically, take off 45%, or 171, and a fair price would be around 200 bucks, give or take.
