this is my first post, so hi! :)
well. i'm a 22 year old boy who's about to buy my first bass.
i've played guitar some years now, but last year i played bass
a lot with some friends and i decided that i want a bass for my
own now. I don't know what kind of bass it was i played, but it
was some sort of fender. nothing expencive.

well. now i really don't know which bass i should buy. i live in a
small place and there's not so many basses i can try in the local
musicstore, so i think i'll buy the bass form ebay or something.
i've really fallen in love with fender's musicmaster bass (by the
looks), but i never tried it and i don't consider myself as a small
person, so maybe its not the smartest buy..?

so if anyone can give me some sugestions. i play most rock/folk
from the 70s, but also newer stuff. nothing very heavy.
i like the looks of the fender basses. and want a 70s sounds.
the price? uhm maybe around $500 - $700.

i hope someone can help me. it feels like i've read all the post
    at talkbass.com and i'm really confused :)

get yourself a fender mike drint signature http://www.fender.com/products/show.php?partno=0138400 its prety retro, it has the P-bass sound, its cheaper and comes with a bad-ass 2 bridge, its a good starting bass, if i were you i'll buy the withe one and then i would get a black pickguard or a tortoise shell pickguard...

BTW welcome to talk bass, you'll find these forums very helpful, there are a lots of expirienced bassist.

Schecter Model T(4 or 5 string) is also good. the 4 looks like a Dirnt, but has a Jazz pup too. Basslines pickups. Costs less too
